Thomas Patton from Pallister Park dodged police for months before finally getting nabbed at Newcastle Airport last October 16.
Fugitive Finally Caught at Newcastle Airport
Patton knew the cops were after him but managed to stay off the radar—until his arrest upon arrival in Newcastle.
Charged with Multiple Offences
After being grilled by police, Patton faced serious charges: three counts of assault causing actual bodily harm (ABH), two common assaults, intimidation, and coercive controlling behaviour.
Denied Charges, Then Convicted
In court last November, Patton denied all allegations. He was remanded in custody ahead of his two-day trial in March.
Three-and-a-Half Years Behind Bars
The trial ended with Patton convicted on all seven counts. This week, the judge sentenced him to three-and-a-half years in prison. He also faces a five-year restraining order.
