Burglary Bandit Banged Up for 28 Months!
Anthony James Storr, 32, from Nutfield Place, was locked up for 28 months at Portsmouth Crown Court on Tuesday (5 October) following a series of bold thefts.
Burglar Caught After String of Thefts
The Eastern Operation Hawk team, specialists in burglary busting, charged Storr last month after a thorough investigation. He was immediately remanded in custody.
Crime Spree Details
- 8 August: Storr nicked a purse containing cash and a bank card from a Moorings Way property. The stolen card was later used fraudulently.
- 21 August: Another purse was stolen from a salon on Fratton Road.
- 25 August: A wallet with cash and bank cards was taken from a home on Woodpath, Southsea, with the cards again used illegally.
Thankfully, no one was hurt during these brazen raids. Storr faced multiple charges, including theft, burglary of a dwelling and non-dwelling premises, and six counts of fraud by false representation.
Police Praise and Community Relief
“Being a victim of burglary is incredibly distressing and leaves people feeling unsafe,” said Police Staff Investigator Catherine Cole from Operation Hawk. “We take these offences very seriously and are committed to catching offenders who violate people’s homes.”
“We’re pleased Storr will now face justice and hope this sentence reassures the local community that crime will not be tolerated.”
