Brutal Attempted Phone Snatch in Ladywell Ends with Arrest
Chaos erupted outside Ladywell police station on 15 July when officers heard a commotion and rushed to intervene. A man was viciously attacked during an attempted mobile phone robbery. The victim suffered a broken arm and bruising. Quick-thinking officers stepped in to protect him and get him to safety.
Teen Arrested and Charged for Violent Robbery Attempt
Barzan Kadir, 19, with no fixed address, was arrested at the scene. The next day, detectives charged him with attempted robbery. Kadir appeared at Margate Magistrates’ Court on 17 July and was granted bail. He is due back at Canterbury Crown Court on 19 August.
Police continue to urge anyone with information to come forward as they crack down on street crime in the area.
