Man Charged After Armed Balcony Drama in Chatham

Police Called After Armed Sightings

Kent Police were scrambled at 8.35am on Wednesday 22 April 2020 following reports of a disturbance at an apartment on Dock Head Road, Chatham.

Members of the public claimed they spotted a man brandishing weapons on a balcony, sparking a rapid police response.

Armed Officers and Helicopter Deployed

Patrols, including armed officers, quickly arrived at the scene. The police helicopter also joined the hunt for the suspect.

They arrested 33-year-old Michael Alunomoh and seized six imitation firearms from the property.

Suspect Charged and Remanded

Alunomoh now faces charges for possession of imitation firearms with intent to cause fear of violence.

He was remanded in custody and set to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 23 April.
