A 13-year-old boy has been sentenced after being found with a knife during a chaotic disturbance at Capital Funfairs in Bexleyheath earlier this month.

The unnamed boy admitted carrying the knife at 1 Magistrates’ Court this week. He was sentenced to a four-month youth offender panel, a community rehabilitation scheme aimed at steering young offenders away from crime.
The incident forced Capital Funfairs to temporarily close. They later reopened introducing new security measures:
- Knife detection wands
- ID checks at entry
- Increased CCTV coverage
Organisers told the press:
“We are a 123 to be shown to verify age.”
