Castleford Man Jailed for Rape and Control After Wakefield Abuse Case
Alexander Julien Sentenced to Nearly a Decade
Alexander Julien, 34, from Castleford, has been slammed with a hefty jail sentence after a Wakefield jury found him guilty of rape and controlling behaviour. Leeds Crown Court handed down the ruling last week following a December trial.
Five Years for Rape, Two for Controlling Behaviour
Julien was convicted of raping a woman over 16 in 2022. He denied the offence but was handed five years behind bars. On top of that, he received two years for two counts of coercive and controlling behaviour – charges he also denied. These two sentences run concurrently but are served consecutively with the rape sentence.
Drug Offences Push Sentence to Nine and a Half Years
During sentencing on 22 January, Julien picked up an extra two and a half years for separate drug offences. These run consecutively, pushing his total jail term to nine years and six months.
Justice has been served for the victim, with Julien now facing nearly a decade behind bars.
