Friend Murdered in Brutal Charlton Attack: Manslaughter Conviction

A man has been found guilty of manslaughter after a savage assault in Charlton left his friend dead. On Wednesday, 25 June 2025, a jury at Isleworth Crown Court convicted 42-year-old Radoslaw Brzezicki of fatally attacking 60-year-old Robert Dlugosz. Brzezicki was also found guilty of actual bodily harm against a woman who witnessed the violent attack.

Violent Home Assault Shocks Charlton

The horrific attack took place on Wednesday, 22 November 2023, at a home on Erwood Road, Charlton. Emergency services were called after the female victim escaped and alerted a neighbour. Police arrived to find Robert critically injured but still alive.

Remarkably, a first response officer used a translation app to communicate with Robert, who bravely identified Brzezicki as his attacker before losing consciousness. His statement proved vital to securing justice.

Police Praise Courage of Victims

Detective Chief Inspector Samantha Townsend, lead investigator for Specialist Crime South, said:

“Robert died in appalling circumstances, brutally assaulted by someone who claimed to be his friend. Thanks to Robert’s courageous final statement, justice has been served. I also want to commend the surviving victim, whose bravery and determination throughout this traumatic ordeal were crucial.”

Brzezicki to Face Sentencing

After the attack, Brzezicki was swiftly arrested and charged. Robert passed away three days later, on 25 November 2023, from a traumatic brain injury sustained in the assault. The court heard Brzezicki attacked both victims following an argument, with the woman managing to flee and raise the alarm.

Brzezicki’s sentencing is set for Thursday, 24 July. Police have extended their sympathies to Robert’s family and praised both victims for their bravery in helping to bring the perpetrator to justice.
