Child Sex Offender Jailed for 14 Years in Staffordshire
A vile child sex offender has been slammed with a 14-year jail sentence for crimes against multiple victims in Staffordshire.
Martin Wynne Found Guilty of 18 Horrific Offences
Martin Wynne, 50, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, was convicted last November following a four-week trial at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court. The offences date back to the 1990s and early 2000s.
Wynne faced 18 charges, including 15 counts of indecent assault on a boy, two counts of inciting a boy to commit acts of gross indecency, and one count of gross indecency with a boy. A jury found him guilty on every count.
Justice for Survivors After Years of Courage
Wynne was reported in 2020. Since then, authorities gathered crucial evidence to charge him and support the survivors.
On Tuesday 18 February, Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court sentenced Wynne to 14 years behind bars.
DS Rebecca Mulcahy, from the child protection team, said: “We’re determined to secure justice for survivors of sexual offences and ensure those responsible are dealt with robustly and appropriately.”
“I would encourage anyone to come forward to report these crimes regardless of when the abuse occurred.”
“I’m really pleased that the jury took all of the evidence into consideration and have helped us to secure the outcome for the many survivors in this case who showed immeasurable courage to come forward after all this time.”
