Tragic Enfield Crash: Young Woman Dies After Car Hits Tree
Detectives are hunting for witnesses after a fatal crash in Enfield in the early hours of Sunday, 26 January. The smash happened around 12.40am on Cattlegate Road, right at the junction with Burnt Farm Ride, EN2.
Passenger Dies, Driver Arrested Over Dangerous Driving
A 20-year-old woman from Enfield, who was a passenger in the car, was rushed to hospital but sadly died from her injuries two days later on Tuesday, 28 January. Her family has been informed and is receiving support from specialist officers.
The 22-year-old male driver was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was also later charged with causing injury by dangerous driving. He has now been released under investigation.
Police Plea: Anyone Who Saw the Red Corsa Must Speak Up
“A young woman has tragically lost her life and we owe it to her family to find out why,” said Detective Constable Jade Williamson from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
“If you saw the crash or spotted a red Corsa being driven before the collision, please come forward. Your tip could be crucial in helping us bring answers to a grieving family.”
