Police were scrambled at 4.55pm on Wednesday, June 30, after a 15-year-old boy was found injured on Dunster Avenue, Westcliff.
The youngster suffered a stab wound to his back but, thankfully, his injuries are not life-changing or life-threatening. He was rushed to hospital for treatment.
Police Launch Probe, Appeal for Witnesses
PC Sam Cross urged the public to come forward: “We’re following several leads to uncover what happened. Extra patrols will patrol the area, and we need anyone who saw or heard anything, or has camera footage, to get in touch.”
Fight Against Youth Violence
“Violence involving young people is a major concern for us and the local community,” PC Cross added. “We’ve made progress, with 173 fewer victims of violent injury crimes in the year to May 2021—a drop of over seven per cent.”
Police say enforcement is just one part of their strategy. They’re teaming up with local organisations to educate and intervene, aiming to steer young people away from trouble.
