Man Airlifted to Hospital After East Grinstead Assault
Detectives are keeping all options open after two men were attacked in East Grinstead on Tuesday afternoon (April 14).
Police rushed to Moat Road at 1.33pm where one man was found with a serious head injury and another with a mouth wound. The man with the head injury was airlifted to hospital. As of Monday evening, his condition was stable and not life-threatening. The second victim was taken by road ambulance. Both victims were conscious and breathing at the scene.
Gun Rumours Under Investigation
Detective Chief Inspector Emma Vickers addressed swirling rumours about a gun being involved in the attack.
“We are aware that initial reports suggested a gun may have been involved. We are awaiting further details and witness statements to confirm whether this is true,” she said.
Suspects Flee in Fiat 500
Witnesses report that up to four people fled the scene in a grey Fiat 500. Police are working to identify the suspects and track down the vehicle. They believe the attack was limited to these six people involved.
