Fifth Man Charged in James Amadu Stabbing Horror
Detectives hunting those behind the deadly stabbing of 26-year-old James Amadu in Enfield have nailed a fifth suspect. Sheldon Crawford-Proverbs, from Collinwood Avenue, was arrested on Monday, 17 February, and charged the same day with assisting an offender.
Crawford-Proverbs Joins Suspect Line-Up
The 26-year-old was held in custody and appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court on 18 February. He was then remanded to appear at the Old Bailey on 24 February. His arrest comes as part of a wider probe by Specialist Crime North homicide detectives.
Earlier Arrests in the Murder Case
- Romeo Mapeza, 18, from Waterman Lane, and a 15-year-old boy—both from Enfield—were charged with murder on 2 November.
- Mapeza also faces possession of a bladed weapon charge.
- Both appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on 4 November.
Additional Suspects Face Weapon and Violent Disorder Charges
- Franklyn Amadu, 23, from Linwood Crescent, Enfield.
- Dennis Goxha, 19, of Meyer Street, Enfield.
- Both were charged on 5 November with violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon.
- Held in custody at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ on 6 November.
All Four Await Trial at the Old Bailey
These four suspects have been remanded in custody and are set to appear at the Old Bailey for trial on Monday, 27 April. The investigation into James Amadu’s stabbing is ongoing.
