Man Charged with Raping Teen Near McDonald’s in SE15
Rape Allegation Rocks Rye Lane
Abioina Dele Lawal, 32, of no fixed address, was charged with rape on Wednesday, 2 February. He remains in custody and is set to appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 3 February.
Horrific Attack on 15-Year-Old Girl
Police were alerted shortly after 6:28pm on Sunday, 30 January, about a brutal assault. The victim, a 15-year-old girl, was walking past McDonald’s on Rye Lane, SE15, when Lawal approached her.
He convinced her to follow him along Elm Grove, leading her to a small green area between Elm Grove and Bellenden Road, where the attack reportedly took place.

The young girl is currently being fully supported by specialist officers to help her through this traumatic ordeal.
