Trump’s Immunity Claim Revived
Previously, Trump argued he couldn’t be prosecuted over actions linked to his official presidential duties. While that defence wasn’t used before, Monday’s Supreme Court verdict affirmed Trump has broad immunity from prosecution for official acts.
This ruling has already stalled a separate Washington criminal case accusing Trump of trying to overturn the 2020 election results. Now, his lawyers are betting the New York hush money conviction faces the same fate.
