Drug bust in St Leonards: Two arrested after undercover sting
Undercover cops spot drug deal
In the late morning of January 22, undercover officers patrolling near Warrior Square in St Leonards spotted what looked like a drug deal. They swooped in, detaining a 39-year-old woman on suspicion of distributing Class A drugs.
Surprise inside the suspect’s home
While in custody, the woman was also suspected of possessing Class A drugs. She then revealed a man at her home who was allegedly armed with a sword. Police moved fast.
Man with sword caught in raid
Using a Section 18 search warrant, police raided the woman’s house and arrested a 21-year-old man. He’s suspected of Class A drug distribution, possession of both Class A and B drugs, and illegal weapon possession on private property.
Both released on conditional bail
Both suspects were given conditional bail until April 22 as the investigation carries on. The crackdown highlights ongoing efforts to fight drug crime in the area.
