Eighth Suspect Charged in Tyler McDermott Murder Case
Detectives have hit a milestone in the hunt for Tyler McDermott’s killer, charging an eighth suspect in connection with the Tottenham shooting. Shernez Walters, 19, from Romford, was charged on May 12 and is due to appear at Highbury Magistrates’ Court. Other suspects, including Rhys Antwi, Alfred Coker, and Kalam Bagge, remain in custody awaiting trial.
All Charged Held and Set for Old Bailey Appearance
Every individual charged over Tyler’s murder is currently remanded in custody. They are all scheduled to face the Old Bailey on July 5 as the investigation intensifies.
Fatal Shooting Shocks Tottenham Community
The nightmare began in the early hours of April 13 when police were called to Norman Road, N15, after reports of gunfire. Officers and paramedics found 17-year-old Tyler with a gunshot wound to the head. Despite rushed hospital treatment, he died the following day. A post-mortem confirmed the bullet was fatal.
Family Supported as Police Push for Justice
Tyler’s family continues to receive specialist support while police press on with their inquiry. Officers promise they will stop at nothing to bring every culprit to account and help the community heal.
