First Picture Released of Man Killed Outside Sainsbury’s
Police have unveiled the first photo of Andrew Clark, 43, who died following a savage attack outside a Sainsbury’s in Beckenham. A 29-year-old man has been charged with his murder.
Brutal Assault on Upper Elmers End Road
The shocking attack happened on Sunday, 16 March, at around 8:24pm near the supermarket on Upper Elmers End Road, Bromley. Paramedics rushed to the scene and found Mr Clark with severe head injuries. Despite emergency treatment and being rushed to a major trauma centre, Mr Clark died three days later on Wednesday, 19 March.
Suspect Charged and Remanded
Demiesh Williams, 29, from Fir Tree Gardens, Croydon, was initially charged with grievous bodily harm with intent. After Mr Clark’s death, the charge was fast-tracked to murder. Williams appeared at the Old Bailey on Tuesday and was remanded in custody. He’s set to return to court on 10 June.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
The Metropolitan Police have confirmed Mr Clark’s identity and revealed that his family are receiving specialist support. A Met spokesperson said:
“We continue to appeal for any witnesses or those with footage of the incident to come forward as the investigation continues.”
The motive remains unknown. Police urge anyone who saw what happened or has any relevant information to come forward.
