Four-Year NCA Sting Nets Ruthless People Smugglers
The National Crime Agency has smashed a people smuggling gang after a four-year probe and surveillance operation.

Officers stopped a Vauxhall Astra on the northbound A34. Inside were two Iraqi children, siblings aged just 18 and 13, crammed into the passenger seats. The driver, known only as “123,” was part of the gang. Kamaran Kader, 44, from Bradford, sat alongside them.
Kingpin on the Run as Phones Crack the Case
Goran Jalal, 37, from Bradford, is believed to be the mastermind behind the network. He fled the scene before he could be arrested and is now wanted by the NCA. Investigators pieced together the gang’s operations by seizing phones, uncovering multiple smuggling events into portsmouth/" title="Portsmouth" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Portsmouth earlier this year.
Hemin Salih, 37, another gang member, skipped bail but was convicted in his absence.
Heartless Smugglers Risk Migrants’ Lives for Profit
“This people smuggling group was content to put vulnerable migrants, including children, in the back of refrigerated lorries for hours on end during dangerous Channel crossings,” said NCA Branch Commander Richard Harrison. “Their sole motivation was profit, with no regard for the migrants’ safety.”
The NCA vowed to keep targeting organised immigration crime and to dismantle these ruthless criminal networks.
