Four Arrested After Woman and Child Hit by Car in Birmingham
Shock Crash in Stechford
A woman and a child were brutally struck by a car that mounted the pavement in Birmingham’s Stechford on 1 February 2025. The driver sped off, leaving the victims injured and scrambling for help.
The pair were rushed to hospital and treated for their injuries following the terrifying hit-and-run on Albert Road.
Suspects Held Over Attempted Murder
West Midlands Police have arrested four suspects in connection with the incident. Two men, aged 46 and 22, and a 38-year-old woman face attempted murder charges. A fourth person is also in custody but their involvement is still being investigated.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “We are continuing our investigation into the shocking incident in Stechford which left a woman and child injured. These arrests are a significant development, but our enquiries remain ongoing.”
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
Detectives are hunting for witnesses and any CCTV or dashcam footage showing the car either before or after the collision. They are desperate to piece together the full story.

Community in Shock
Locals on Albert Road were stunned by the loud bang and the chaos that followed. One anonymous neighbour said: “It was terrifying. A car speeding like that with no regard for people—especially hitting a child—it’s just horrible.”
