Guns, Drugs and Cash Found in Nottingham Police Raid
Police swooped on a Top Valley flat after a tip-off, cracking down hard on drug and firearm crime. On March 10, 2021, officers stormed Coxmoor Court, expecting drugs — and found a lot more.
Friends Arrested Over Guns and Class A Drugs
Tobias Holmes, 33, and James King, 65, were caught red-handed enjoying a coffee when police burst in. The stash included Class A drugs, scales, deal bags, cash, and mobile phones. But the shock came when officers uncovered slam guns, a handgun, shotgun cartridges, and ammo.
A full search revealed metal pipes and cartridges that could be assembled into at least three slam guns. DNA on these weapons led detectives straight to two more men.
Four Men Jailed After Two-and-a-Half Week Trial
- Tobias Holmes – 12 years for possession of a firearm with intent, drug supply, and ammunition offences.
- James King – 8 years for possession of a prohibited firearm.
- Ramari Blackwood, 23 – 8 years for possession of a prohibited firearm.
- Callum Arthur, 29 – 8 years for possession of a prohibited firearm.
All four appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on March 10 after being found guilty following a lengthy trial.
Detective Warns: ‘No Excuse for Carrying Weapons’
“Most importantly I hope this sends a very strong message to anyone who believes it’s acceptable or legal to possess any weapon,” said Detective Sergeant James Hirst.
“Firearms have deadly consequences that affect victims, suspects, and whole communities. If you think you can carry weapons or drugs here and get away with it – think again.”
“Nottinghamshire Police will never tolerate weapons and drugs. We will keep hunting down suspects no matter how complex the case.”
