Four thugs have been locked up for opening fire on two men during a botched robbery at a cannabis factory in Doncaster.
Violent Ambush on Bentley Road
Paul Oates, 40, Callum Rogers, 27, Oliver Jebson, 28, and Samuel Jebson, 25, travelled from Rotherham to Doncaster on 18 August 2021. They stabbed one victim before shooting him in the abdomen, causing life-threatening injuries. The second man, 24, was also shot at but only suffered minor wounds when a bullet hit his phone. Emergency services rushed both men to the hospital for treatment.
DNA and CCTV Nail the Gang
At Sheffield Crown Court, the defendants claimed innocence to attempted murder charges. But DNA from a bullet casing and CCTV footage of the shocking attack proved their guilt. The quartet faced two counts of attempted murder and conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to kill or injure.
Judge Branded Them ‘Joint Enterprise Killers’
“None of you gave any evidence at trial, none of you has told the truth,” Judge Jeremy Richardson KC blasted. “This was a joint enterprise in which you all participated and each of you had that intention to kill.”
The judge admitted it was “impossible” to say who held the gun or the knife but was certain all four intended to use deadly weapons during the raid. After the attack, the gang returned to Rotherham, changed clothes, and ditched their getaway vehicle—a Nissan X-Trail traced back to the Jebson brothers’ address.
