Spirit Snatcher Busted After £360 Theft Spree in Gravesend
Spirit Heist at Asda
A man tried to pinch bottles of spirits worth over £140 from Asda in Thames Way on Monday, 22 January 2024. But that was just the beginning of his trouble.
Further Theft at Iceland
Over the next two days, the same suspect allegedly swiped groceries and goods worth around £220 from Iceland in Overcliffe. His crime spree totalled nearly £360.
Arrest and Court Appearance
On Wednesday 24 January, officers arrested Nrender Biriah, 48, who has no fixed address. He was charged by the North Kent Victim-Based Crime Team with three counts of theft and five breaches of a criminal behaviour order.
Biriah appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 26 January and was remanded to maidstone/" title="Maidstone" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on 8 March for a further hearing.
