Sports Therapist Jailed for Sex Assault on Client During Home Visit
Jerry Okoye, 39, a sports therapist from Hornsey, has been locked up for 27 months after sexually assaulting a client in her Surrey home.
Trust Betrayed During Treatment
The shocking attack happened when Okoye went to the victim’s house for a treatment session. He abused his position of trust, sexually touching and penetrating her without consent. The victim had actually set up a camera to watch her new puppy, which ended up capturing the assault on tape.
Victim Speaks Out on Trauma
After Okoye pleaded guilty to sexual assault by penetration and touching, the victim opened up about her ordeal. “I blamed myself at first,” she said. “I felt dirty, numb, and couldn’t sleep. I no longer feel safe in my own home and had to rent it out.”
Investigator Condemns Abuse of Trust
Detective Constable Wood, who led the investigation, slammed Okoye’s actions. “He was meant to be a professional but instead violated his client’s trust. This has had a lasting impact on her life. We hope this conviction helps her begin to heal.”
This case is a stark reminder that justice will be served for sexual assault victims, with police committed to protecting those who come forward.
