Teen Terror Plot Shocker: Cowes Teen Arrested with Knife Over Alleged ISIS-Inspired Attack
Cowes Teen Charged in Terror Plot
A 15-year-old boy from Cowes, Isle of Wight, appeared this afternoon at Westminster Magistrates Court charged with preparing a terrorist act. The teenager, whose identity is withheld for legal reasons, stood trial in front of District Judge Ikran while his mother watched from the public gallery.
ISIS Ideology and Isle of Wight Festival Targeted
Prosecutors say the youth was influenced by extreme Islamist ideology linked to ISIS. He allegedly researched the Isle of Wight Festival—a massive event drawing around 90,000 attendees including big names like Lewis Capaldi and Kasabian—as a potential attack site.
According to court details, the teen searched online for weapons like firearms, vehicles, and stab vests. He also acquired a knife and penned notes, including a chilling “martyrdom” letter titled To My Family.
FBI Tip-Off and Knife Arrest
The arrest came after an FBI tip-off warned the teen planned to attack a so-called “non-believer” whom he believed insulted Islam. Counter-terrorism officers and Hampshire Police nabbed him last Monday, finding a knife in his backpack.
Remanded into Custody Ahead of Old Bailey Hearing
There was no plea during the brief hearing and no application for bail. The teenager, dressed in a grey shirt, was remanded in custody until his plea and direction hearing at the Old Bailey in August.
