Kate Moss Slams Rumour Johnny Depp Pushed Her Down Stairs During Bombshell BBC Interview

Supermodel Kate Moss, 48, has slammed claims Johnny Depp pushed her down the stairs during their 1990s romance. The model gave a rare and decisive statement on the explosive allegation made by Amber Heard during Depp’s high-profile US defamation trial.

Moss Clears Depp of Staircase Assault Allegation

Moss, who dated Depp from 1994 to 1998, told BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs: “I know the truth about Johnny. I’m pretty sure he never kicked me down the stairs. I had to tell you the truth.”

The ‘Aquaman’ star had referenced a rumour that Depp pushed Moss down a staircase at the GoldenEye resort in Jamaica. Moss categorically denied it, revealing she actually slipped in a rainstorm. She said, “I slid down the stairs as I left the room, hurting my back and screaming because I didn’t know what had happened to me. Johnny ran back to help me, carrying me to my room and getting me medical attention.”

Depp Won $50M Lawsuit Against Heard

The Hollywood pirate triumphed last month after a jury found Amber Heard’s 2018 Washington Post article defamatory. Depp sued Heard for $50 million over the piece titled, “I spoke out against sexual violence – and faced our culture’s wrath.”

During the lengthy trial in Virginia, Moss gave a brief but crucial testimony via video link, denying any abuse by Depp. “He never pushed, kicked, or threw me down any stairs,” she told the court.

Moss On Justice, Truth, And Supporting Friends

In her rare chat with presenter Lauren Laverne, Moss also opened up about backing her friend John Galliano, the controversial Spanish fashion designer who fell from grace after a 2011 racial abuse scandal. She said, “I believe in the truth, as well as fairness and justice. John had an alcohol problem, and people turned against him. When people drink, they aren’t themselves, and they say things they would never say if they were sober.”

Moss’s candid remarks add fuel to Depp’s defence fire and shut down rumours swirling around his turbulent past.
