Inmate Murder Charge at Maidstone Prison
The Crown Prosecution Service has approved a murder charge after a deadly incident inside HMP Maidstone.
24-Year-Old Charged with Murder
Sasan Rabit, 24, an inmate at Maidstone, was charged with murder in the early hours of Saturday, 11 December 2021. He is set to appear at Medway Magistrates Court the same day.
Prison Alarm Raised Over Welfare Concern
Kent Police responded to a welfare call at the prison at 3.33pm on Thursday, 9 December 2021. South East Coast Ambulance Service crews also rushed to the scene.
The victim, a man in his 20s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene by medical staff.
