Man Coughs on Cop, Claims He Has COVID – Now Faces Serious Charges
A Portsmouth man has been charged after allegedly coughing at a police officer and claiming he had coronavirus. Joe Field, 25, from Westerham Close, faces assault and criminal damage charges.
Incident Sparks Investigation
The breach happened late on Friday, 24 April, at 10.53pm on Allaway Avenue, Portsmouth. Officers acted swiftly, and Field is set to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates Court on Monday 27 April.

Hampshire Constabulary confirmed the officer involved is receiving full support as the investigation continues.
