Taxi Passenger Busted with Class A Drugs in Hove
A 28-year-old man has been thrown behind bars after a dramatic bust by Sussex Police in Hove.
On Friday, October 4, plainclothes officers from the Tactical Firearms Unit (TFU) spotted a taxi passenger acting suspiciously. The taxi was pulled over on Cromwell Road, near Denmark Villas, just after 6pm. A search revealed a stash of Class A drugs.
Erblind Daxha Arrested and Charged
The man, Erblind Daxha, with no fixed address, was arrested at the scene. Following a probe by Brighton CID, he was charged with possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.
Daxha faced Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Monday, October 7, where he was remanded in custody. He’s due back in court at Lewes Crown Court on November 4.
TFU Crack Down on Drug Dealers
“TFU officers play a critical role in keeping the public safe. When they aren’t responding to serious or violent incidents, they proactively target offenders for drugs and other offences,” said TFU Inspector Oli Fisher. “Using a variety of tactics, skills, and experience, this has resulted in dozens of arrests so far this year.”
