£30K Cocaine Haul Seized in North Yorkshire Drugs Raid

Police from the Craven Neighbourhood Policing Team swooped on a property on 11 November 2022, uncovering a massive stash of drugs cash and cocaine.

£30,000 Cash and Cocaine Found

During the raid, officers found around £30,000 in cash, packages of white powder, plus drugs paraphernalia like digital scales and self-seal bags. Tests confirmed the powder was cocaine, with a street value of up to £34,800.

Two Men Arrested After Handing Themselves In

Residents Liam O’Hagan, 26, and James Lea-Thornton, 24, weren’t home during the raid but later handed themselves in. O’Hagan faces charges including possession with intent to supply cocaine and possession of criminal property. Lea-Thornton was charged with possession of class B drugs.

Sentences Handed Down at Bradford Crown Court

  • O’Hagan was jailed for three years.
  • Lea-Thornton fined £500 and ordered to pay costs.

“The supply of cocaine results in nothing but misery and suffering,” said PC Ian Hunt of North Yorkshire Police. “We will not tolerate it here, nor will the community we serve. This case sends a clear warning – we will work relentlessly to stop this criminality.”
