Child Sex Offender Jailed for Eight Years After Decades-Old Assaults
Stephen Terry Jeeves, 60, has been locked up for eight years for indecent assaults committed in the 1990s. The man from Allhallows Leisure Park, Rochester, Kent, was convicted at Aylesbury Crown Court on Thursday (16/8) for four counts of indecent assault against a teenage girl.
Decades-Old Crimes Finally Brought to Justice
Jeeves was charged on 22 February after a detailed Thames Valley Police investigation. He denied the allegations but was found guilty by a unanimous jury verdict. The assaults took place in both Kent and Aylesbury.
Police Praise Victim’s Brave Testimony
DC Victoria Gidman from Aylesbury police said: “This sentence reflects the severity of Jeeves’ crimes. Thames Valley Police take offences of this nature extremely seriously and will investigate thoroughly to bring offenders to justice.”
She added: “I would like to pay tribute to the victim in this case who very bravely gave evidence in court.”
Kent Police Back Up Investigation, Urge Reporting
Kent Police worked closely with Thames Valley during the case. DC John Milham said: “I would like to pay tribute to the victim who, despite continuing to be very vulnerable, gave evidence at trial.”
He continued: “Without her determination and courage to see this child abuser brought to trial, we would not have secured this conviction.”
Milham urged others affected by abuse to come forward: “Kent Police will thoroughly pursue any child sex offenders, whether the crimes were recent or decades old. We encourage victims or those aware of abuse to report it immediately.”
