Paedophile Jailed for Seven Years After Assaulting Two Girls Near Sandwich

Man Arrested Following Shocking Assault Claims

Jahrad Alderton-Ford, 43, from Cop Street, Ash, was locked up after Kent Police launched a thorough probe into sexual assaults on two young girls in a quiet village near Sandwich. The offences came to light in 2022 when the victims bravely reported the attacks.

Despite denying the charges, Alderton-Ford was charged with two counts of sexual assault, pushing the case to trial. But in October 2024, a jury found him guilty at Canterbury Crown Court. On February 7, 2025, the judge handed down a tough sentence.

Harsh Sentence and Lifetime Restrictions

  • Seven years behind bars
  • An extra year on licence once released
  • Mandatory Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) for life

The SHPO will keep Alderton-Ford under strict supervision indefinitely, aiming to protect the community from any chance of reoffending.

Police Praise Victims’ Courage

“These were awful offences against young victims, and I am pleased Alderton-Ford has been brought to justice for his actions,” said Detective Constable Emma Garcia, who led the investigation.

“By refusing to admit what he had done, he forced his victims and their family to go through a trial, but I am pleased the jury saw through his denials.”

“I urge anyone who has been a victim of sexual offences to come forward so offenders can be held accountable.”

How to Report Sexual Offences

Kent Police urge all victims to report crimes, with support available at every step:

  • Call 101 to speak directly to officers
  • Report anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
  • Access specialist help through Sexual Assault Referral Centres (SARC)

Alderton-Ford’s long prison sentence is a clear warning to predators and a crucial step in securing justice for victims and safety for the community.
