A packed train journey from Waterloo to Guildford turned deadly when Darren Pencille allegedly stabbed fellow passenger Lee Pomeroy 18 times. The brutal attack erupted from a bitter argument over space in the train aisle, a court has heard.
Son Witnessed Shocking Attack Before Birthday
The senseless assault unfolded just a day before Mr Pomeroy’s birthday and was witnessed by his own son. The pair, who had taken a day trip to London, reportedly got into a heated shouting match before Pencille pulled out a knife.
Crime Caught On Camera, Accomplice Also On Trial
Some of the stabbing was caught on mobile phone footage. Meanwhile, Pencille’s girlfriend, 27-year-old Mitchell, stands accused of helping him escape. Prosecutors claim she drove him away from Clandon station and then bought hair clippers and razors to help him alter his appearance.
