Man Admits Sexual Assault at Brighton Marina
A 33-year-old man has pleaded guilty after sexually assaulting a woman at Brighton Marina. Obaidullah Walizada, who has no fixed address, grabbed the victim in a car park underpass on June 22 at around 1.15pm.
Victim Approached While Cycling
The woman was cycling through the Brighton Marina Car Park underpass when she stopped and got off her bike. That’s when Walizada forced his way behind her and grabbed her before casually walking off. Officers arrested him nearby soon after on suspicion of sexual assault.
Walizada Remanded Ahead of Sentencing
Walizada was charged the very next day and pleaded guilty at Brighton Magistrates’ Court. He remains in custody and is set to be sentenced on July 15.
