Ex-Wiltshire Special Constables Caught in Gross Misconduct Scandal

This week, a tough independent hearing slammed two former Wiltshire Police Special Constables for gross misconduct. Sonny Webb and Tyrone Duncan were found guilty of multiple breaches, including dishonesty and failing in their duties during a serious assault case back in August 2020.

Shocking Failures on the Job

  • Webb and Duncan botched the handling of a serious assault victim and suspects.
  • The delay they caused held up the entire investigation.
  • Both colluded to cover up their mistakes.
  • They quit their roles in September 2020, just before facing formal disciplinary action.

Dismissed and Banned from Policing for Life

The Legally Qualified Chair confirmed the pair’s actions amounted to gross misconduct. Had they stayed, they would have been fired on the spot. Now, they’re slapped on the national barred list, banning them from ever working in policing again.

Deputy Chief Constable Paul Mills blasted: “The public rightly expect the highest level of diligence and professionalism from police officers – especially when investigating crimes. Webb and Duncan’s actions fly in the face of everything Wiltshire Police stands for.”

“There’s no place in Wiltshire Police for officers who act like this. If they hadn’t resigned, they’d be dismissed today. Their misconduct risks shaking public trust and undermines the work of dedicated officers committed to protecting our communities.”

Mills added: “We take professional standards seriously and urge anyone worried about police conduct to come forward immediately.”
