Boat Party Bust: Man Charged Over Massive River Rave

Jordy Nicholas Van Duijvenbode, 31, with no fixed address, has been hit with two charges after a huge party on the River Lea.

Too Many People on Board

Van Duijvenbode was charged on Sunday, 14 February, with holding a gathering of more than 30 people and participating in a gathering of two or more people. The action follows reports of a noisy crowd blasting music from a boat between Tottenham Lock and Hackney in the early hours of Saturday, 13 February.

Early Morning Police Raid

Officers acted on several calls about the late-night boat rave. They found the party vessel moored off 1 Marshes at around 4:20am. Van Duijvenbode was released on bail and is set to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 21 February.
