OAP Left With Serious Head Injury After Roadside Brawl
On Sunday, September 25, a 69-year-old man suffered a nasty head injury after a dispute on the Bury Road one-way system at around 5:50pm. The victim was with his wife, who uses a wheelchair, when he got into a heated altercation with a man riding a bicycle. The cyclist then sped off towards Stoke Road.
Police Seek Mystery Cameraphone Witness
Officers have spoken to several witnesses but believe someone else, who may have snapped photos on their mobile phone around the time of the attack, has yet to come forward. “A number of motorists driving past the scene may also hold vital information,” police say.
Suspect in Custody as Victim Battles Serious Injury
The injured OAP remains under treatment for a serious head wound at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham. Meanwhile, a 28-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and remains in custody.
