Troublesome Tenant Booted as Radford Property Sealed Shut
A property on Alfreton Road, Radford has been boarded up after cops evicted a troublemaking tenant. The area’s community can finally breathe easy following months of chaos.
Closure Order Slams Door on Drug and Anti-Social Havoc
The City Central neighbourhood policing team won a three-month court closure order. This bans anyone from entering the property – except emergency services, the landlord, or authorised reps. Breaking the order is now a criminal offence, with hefty fines or jail time on the table.
The crackdown came after countless reports of drug use and anti-social behaviour plagued the address. Locals were pushed to their limits.
“There’s been an overwhelming number of incidents needing police attendance here over the past few years,” said Sergeant Dan Griffin.
“Anti-social behaviour and drug misuse forced some residents to pack up and leave. Even neighbours abandoned their homes due to the chaos.”
“Despite multiple police raids, the criminal activity kept happening. We had no choice but to seek a closure order to stop this nonsense.”
“I’m thrilled Nottingham Magistrates’ Court granted this order. It’ll finally give the community a break from the constant criminal and nuisance behaviour.”
Police Praise Tough Action and Community Support
The closure order was granted on 3 March under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.
Officers cleared the premises the same day. A private firm swiftly boarded up the house to keep troublemakers out.
Inspector Ben Lawrence, head of the City Central policing team, praised the effort:
“This follows persistent offending that seriously impacted local residents. We want people to know we listen and will act to protect the community.”
“Big thanks to Sgt Griffin and his team for their relentless work bringing this property to order.”
The move marks a win for Radford locals fed up with the unending anti-social nightmare.
