Massive Drug and Weapons Haul in Mandurah Sting
Gang Crime Squad detectives have hit a major blow against crime, charging a 31-year-old man with multiple drug and weapons offences after raiding two properties in the Mandurah area.
Big Finds at Baldivis and Wellard
Police raided a Baldivis home on Cassinia Street around 11.30 a.m. on February 15, 2023. Inside, officers uncovered a haul including:
- 41 Oxymetholone tablets
- £115,000 in cash
- Live ammunition
- Drug paraphernalia
- 2 flick knives
- A belt concealing a knife
They also seized a suspicious phone-like device that folds to mimic a gun. Ballistic tests are underway to see if it can fire rounds.
Less than an hour later at 12.20 p.m., officers executed a second warrant at a Wellard property on Bellingham Parade. Police claim the garage was rigged as a drug distribution hub, turning up:
- 1.03kg of cocaine
- 163g of MDMA
Arrest and Charges
The 31-year-old man was arrested at a Mandurah shopping centre carpark on Smart Street around 1.45 p.m. on February 25, 2023. Police found 58g of methylamphetamine and over £1,000 cash during a vehicle search.
He now faces a string of serious charges, including:
- Possession of stolen property
- Possession with intent to sell methylamphetamine, MDMA, and cocaine
- Breach of bail
- Unlicensed possession of firearm/ammunition
- Possession of prohibited weapons and drug paraphernalia
The man was denied bail and is due at Perth Magistrates Court on March 3, 2023.
Woman Also Busted
A 25-year-old woman from Wellard was also charged with possession of MDMA and cocaine with intent to supply. She is set to appear at Rockingham Magistrates Court on April 3, 2023.
