Big Drug Bust Hits Rochdale and Beyond
Detectives from Greater Manchester Police’s Serious and Organised Crime Group smashed a major drug operation this morning. Seven warrants were executed across Rochdale, Cumbria, and North Wales, targeting a network supplying Class A drugs.
What They Seized
Prior raids had already uncovered two kilograms of cocaine. Today, officers bagged high-value jewellery, £2,000 in cash, and even a samurai sword during their crackdown. The investigation is far from over.
Arrests Made
- Four men, aged 23 to 27, from Rochdale arrested for conspiracy to supply Class A drugs
- One 57-year-old Rochdale man charged with involvement in organised crime
- A 28-year-old Cumbria man and a 39-year-old from Rhyl also held on drug supply charges
Police Speak Out
“Today’s action is the result of months of relentless work. Our investigation targets drug supply networks blighting local communities,” said Detective Chief Inspector Mark McDowall from GMP’s Rochdale district.
“Drugs on the streets fuel serious crime and disputes. This operation is a serious blow to organised crime in our area. We’ll chase suspects across borders and arrest those bringing drugs to our streets.”
“We urge anyone with information to come forward, no matter how small. Public intelligence is crucial to cracking down on serious crime.”
