Shoplifter Jack Hollier Banned from Canterbury City Centre

Jack Hollier, 21, has been banned from Canterbury city centre after admitting to stealing more than £500 worth of goods, including alcohol. The shoplifting spree took place between December 2019 and March 2020.

Jailed and Served a Criminal Behaviour Order

Hollier, who has no fixed address, was arrested on 5 March and pleaded guilty to six theft charges at Thanet Magistrates’ Court on 13 March. He was sentenced to 28 days in jail and slapped with a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO).

Strict Conditions to Keep Him Out of Trouble

The CBO bans Hollier from entering a specific area of Canterbury city centre where he committed his crimes. If he breaches the order within the next two years, he faces a return to prison.

“Repeat shoplifters like Hollier make life a misery for shop staff in Canterbury,” said PC Richard Blades of Kent Police’s Victim Based Crime Team. “We are pleased he has been taken off the streets temporarily and will not be able to return to the area where he caused such a nuisance.”
