A 23-year-old from Rugeley has landed behind bars for flogging cocaine on Snapchat. Reece Caven was hit with a two-year-and-four-month sentence at Stafford Crown Court on Thursday, 19 February. The youngster admitted selling the Class A drug across the local area.

Police Smash Snapchat Drug Operation

Back in January, Staffordshire’s major and organised crime squad swooped on a suspect and snatched a phone. The device revealed messages from Caven pushing cocaine sales. Police arrested him the very next day at his home, seizing the phone used to peddle the drugs.

Repeat Offender Caught Red-Handed

At arrest, Caven was still out on licence from a previous stint behind bars. He pleaded guilty on 6 February, sealing his fate.
