Ten Arrested After M25 Motorway Protests
Police have charged ten people following a series of disruptive protests on motorway gantries over the M25. The incidents took place between Monday 7 and Thursday 10 November 2022 at junctions 4, 1A, and 1B.
Climbing Gear Seized Near Westerham
Officers stopped and searched a car near Westerham, detaining a group and confiscating climbing equipment used in the protests. These actions formed part of an ongoing crackdown on the demonstrations.
Names of Those Charged This Friday
On Friday 11 November, five individuals were charged with conspiracy to commit public nuisance and scheduled to appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court:
- David Mann, 50, Kerry Avenue, Ipswich
- Cressida Gethin, 20, The Southend Ledbury, Herefordshire
- Guido Wieser, 18, Pentonville Road, London
- Christopher Ford, 45, Carlton Way, Cambridge
- Phoebe Plummer, 21, Elms Road, London
Five More Face Charges
Earlier in the week, five others were charged with intentionally or recklessly causing a public nuisance. They are due back in court in December 2022:
