Serial Shoplifter Busted Red-Handed—and Locked Up!
Homeless booze thief Muhammad Chaudhry, 25, has finally been put behind bars for six months after a spree of alcohol thefts at Waitrose in Twyford.
The Reading Magistrates’ Court handed down the sentence on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, closing the chapter on his crime wave that shook the local community.
Steals Again Hours After Court—Caught in the Act!
Chaudhry pleaded guilty to eight counts of stealing booze between December 2025 and February 2026. On 9 February, he was nabbed red-handed at Twyford train station by a sharp-eyed officer and slapped with a 16-week suspended sentence.
But the brazen thief made a shocking U-turn. Mere hours after walking out of court, Chaudhry was back at Waitrose, swiping goods once more. Store detectives caught him on the spot, leading to an instant rearrest.
Police Clamp Down on Repeat Offenders
“Muhammad Chaudhry has demonstrated a pattern of behaviour that causes significant harm to retailers and the local community,” said PC Dzhuli Bogdanova from Wokingham Neighbourhood Policing.
“Even after being sentenced for multiple shoplifting offences, he returned to offending straight away. Our officers acted swiftly to arrest him again, and we will not hesitate to pursue further action against those who repeatedly ignore the law.”
With six months behind bars, officials hope to finally put an end to Chaudhry’s criminal antics. The warning is loud and clear: repeat shoplifters, beware—police are watching.
