Police cracked down on speeders and rule-breakers along the A2070 between Ashford and Brenzett over the weekend of 18-19 April.

10 Snared With Speeding Reports

Kent Police handed out 10 Traffic Offence Reports during their blitz. Offenders must now choose between attending a speed awareness course or coughing up a fine and taking points on their licence.

Three More Hit for No Insurance or Road Tax

That’s not all — officers also flagged three drivers for driving without insurance or road tax, showing some just can’t play by the rules.

Police Warn: Stick to the Speed Limit!

Inspector Jason Atkinson of Ashford Community Safety Unit said: “Officers carried out the checks following concerns raised by local residents of suspected bad driving.

“We regularly carry out road safety checks across Ashford but will also respond when we receive reports of ongoing issues in a particular area.

“We remind people to play their part in keeping our roads safe, the speed limit is there as a maximum speed, and not general guidance for them.

“By driving responsibly and keeping your speed down, it will reduce the risks of collision, as well as improve quality of life for those who live near the road.”

Residents can breathe easier knowing local police are cracking down hard on dangerous drivers in their communities.
