Three Brothers Found Guilty in Shocking Rotherham Sex Abuse Case
Three brothers have been slammed guilty over a horrific sex crime spree that terrorised Rotherham almost 20 years ago. Their twisted crimes targeted five victims, including four children.
‘Killer’ Amar Ilyas Flees After Conviction
The ringleader, Amar Ilyas, 41, earned the chilling nickname “Killer” for his brutal tactics — from gun threats and promises of gang rape to biting one victim. He was convicted in absentia last September after fleeing the UK. His escape kept him under the radar while the brothers’ trial went ahead.
Brothers Kamran and Kamar Also Locked Up
Amar’s brothers, Kamran Ilyas, 38, and Kamar Ilyas, 39, were found guilty of multiple sexual offences against one of the girls their eldest brother abused. The nightmare unfolded between 2004 and 2008, with victims detailing grooming and horrific violence.
Operation Stovewood Exposes Rotherham’s Dark Past
The brothers are the latest arrests thanks to Operation Stovewood — the National Crime Agency’s massive probe into historic sex abuse in Rotherham, launched in 2018. The investigation began after a woman bravely reported grooming and rape by Kamar, along with abuses by his brothers.
