Armed Maniac Threatens Woodley Pharmacy – Brave PCs Step In
In March 2021, a nightmare unfolded at a Woodley pharmacy when a man armed with a hammer and a knife launched a terrifying robbery. PC Simon Toft and rookie PC Alicia Snowden were scrambled to the scene, unaware they’d soon face a much bigger threat.

The man, having left the pharmacy, attacked a woman in her car before storming into Woodley Medical Centre. Now wielding an axe and multiple kitchen knives, he smashed a chair through a window, threatening staff with deadly force.

PC Toft, drawing his Taser, confronted the calm but dangerous attacker holding a heavy metal bar. The man lunged to strike, but the Taser wasn’t fully effective through his thick clothing. He ripped out the wires and went for another blow.
Without hesitation, the new recruit PC Snowden dashed in, kicking the weapon aside and shouting firm orders. Repeated Taser shocks followed, as the attacker grabbed knives and a meat cleaver from his pockets and backpack.
Showing incredible guts, PC Snowden cuffed the attacker while maintaining control, with backup arriving soon after. The man was arrested and later remanded to prison.
