Masked Robbers Snatch £70k Watch at Gunpoint in Leyton
Dante Campbell, 20, from Denmark Road, N8, and Ahmed Bana, 25, of Hale Gardens, N17, have pleaded guilty to conspiracy to rob and possession of an imitation firearm. They face sentencing soon at Snaresbrook Crown Court.
Flying Squad Crack Case with CCTV and Forensics
Detective Constable Stuart Ponder of the Met’s Flying Squad led the investigation. He said:
“This robbery was carefully planned and executed by these individuals who knew exactly who they were targeting and what they were aiming for.”
“Despite being on a busy street with public close by, they brazenly brandished a firearm and threatened Mr Khan with extreme violence.”
“Mr Khan has spoken about the impact on him and his family. That’s why we’re increasing patrols at robbery hotspots and hunting these criminals.”
“Victims should report robberies ASAP to help us gather forensic evidence and put violent offenders behind bars.”
Luxury Watch Targeted in Bold Street Robbery
On 18 April 2022, Mr Khan and his wife dined on Leyton High Street. Leaving the restaurant around 9:10pm, Campbell approached and shoved a gun in Mr Khan’s face, ordering him: “Take off the watch.”
