Police Crack Down on Ruthless Fraudster

The accused is set to appear at Forfar Sheriff Court on Friday, May 10, 2024. Police Scotland urge anyone who suspects they’ve been scammed to come forward immediately and contact their bank.

Detective Constable Amanda Sharp said: “We thank the public for their help. Scammers use affection and goodwill to trick victims into sending money under false pretences. It’s easy to fall prey, and many victims feel reluctant to report it—but please do.”

“To the scammers: if you commit this crime, we will identify, trace and arrest you. If you think you’ve been a victim, contact your bank and report it to Police Scotland on 101.”
