Toddler Hurt in Hit-and-Run on Friar Street

Just after 2.30pm on 11th October, a takeaway delivery cyclist collided with a 23-month-old girl crossing Friar Street with her family. The rider stopped briefly but then fled without leaving any details.

The little girl suffered a head injury and was rushed to Royal Berkshire Hospital by officers. Thankfully, she was discharged a few hours later.

Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Up

“We would like to speak to the cyclist shown in the CCTV image as he may have important information about the incident,” said PC Vince Moore from Reading police.

“I’d also urge anyone who saw the collision to come forward. The child was lucky to escape with minor injuries – it could have been so much worse.”
