Just Stop Oil Protesters Storm World Snooker Championship

Chaos erupted at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield last night as two Just Stop Oil activists crashed the World Snooker Championship at around 7:20pm. The pair doused the tables in bright orange powder paint, halting the game mid-play before security hauled them out and police made arrests.

Fiery Demands Amid Snooker Showdown

The protesters called on the Government to immediately halt all new UK fossil fuel projects. They also urged UK sporting bodies to join the civil resistance against what they branded “genocidal” Government policies.

Police Crack Down on Paint Attack

South Yorkshire Police confirmed, “Two people were detained after protesters gained entry to The Crucible earlier this evening. A 30-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage. Both are in police custody.”
